Being illiterate could be worse

So....as I know sam has already posted some stuff, I'll fill in the blanks.

Yesterday we arrived. Our flight was thankfully uneventful after a brief announcement by the captain that can be summed up, "I know we were taxiing, but now we realize that the plane is broken. We're going back to the terminal so the plane can be made unbroken." After that it was smooth sailing across the open seas.

we arrived nicely and got to our place after a not too long ride from Tel aviv. Our apartment is very basic, but at 100 NIS (New Israeli Shekels) a month (less than $30) it's livable (as you can see below in sam's video). I guess i'd say it is a cross between a hostel and a dorm

today there was so much rain. It was also election day. between those two things, we were limited as to what we could do. Here in Israel, Election day is like a national holiday; much businesses are closed including the company we are supposed to get cell phones from as well as the Jewish Agency that is getting us our internships. So with everything closed, pouring rain, and booming thunder we couldn't explore very much nor could we be very productive.

We did end up going out on a run between thundering downpours so we got some exercise and did a little exploring where we found a cool looking museum/music venue that I hope to check out at a later date (sorry, didn't bring camera on run because we didn't know if it was going to start raining again).

the most eventful part of the day was when we went to BURGERS BAR!!! Their burgers are awesome, we got lamburgers. I wish i could read hebrew, but it was nice that the menus are printed in both english and hebrew. I may just have to learn Hebrew one menu at a time.

Ok, so... tomorrow I must look into getting a phone because i think the Israel Phones website screwed up my order so i don't even know when i'm getting one. I also have to figure out my internship as well as find a place to learn krav maga.

I also wonder if it is worthwhile to get a membership to a very convenient yet unfortunately ubertrendy gym that is close to where we're living. I like staying in shape, but at 280NIS a month i don't know if it is worth the cost considering i'm making virtually no money while here. I also don't know if i'll have time to stay here and go to the gym enough to warrant a membership maybe i'll have to run/swim and pushup/pullup/squat my way into fitness like a true caveman.
