We've got some 'splorin to do

So yesterday was a pretty good day, despite sam's insomnia the night before we walked and ran around Ra'anana enjoying the beautiful weather that was in the upper 60s and sunny all day until the sun went down. then it was dark.

On our walk over to visit one of sam's friends i stopped at a produce store on the side of the road and got a passion fruit "yogurt" which was the consistency of a fruit smoothy, kinda. it was delicoius. After meeting up with sam's friend, we stopped by what was a crowded stand on the side of the road and got what they called in english "toast." It was incredible. it was a big and flat bagel that they put in the oven after stuffing it with "yellow cheese"(i think it was mozzarella), "Bulgarian Cheese" (mild feta), tomato sauce and olives. it was sooooo goood.

I'm taking a sexy bit of toast

mmmmm, so greasy.
After eating, we decided it was time to check out the night life in Ra'anana. after asking around at the mall and at some local convenience store we eventually located a bar that we had already walked by twice without knowing it. In fact, it was described to us, "go through the opening in the white fence. There's no sign and it looks like a place you're not supposed to go, but just go there anyway." after hearing that twice, we realized that it probably was not separate groups of people wanting to lure us during an ally for a gang raping.

So here's where we walk up to. we've been assured that this is the place. Lets see inside!

Ok, so we walked through the first gate. not much more inviting, but we saw two girls go in so how bad could it be?

And here's the inside. We each got a liter of Goldstar and relaxed for a couple of hours. they were playing lots of rock and really good music (israeli and american). anyone could go up to the playlist and choose the next song; I went with greenday's basketcase.

I have to say that the night turned out pretty chill. We were sitting on the floor on pillows, leaning against the wall with a low table. nothing too crazy, but at least we now know one of the local hotspots, as there aren't too many in the little town we're living in. My only complaint is that it got pretty smokey in there especially when we were the only table in the whole place not smoking hookah.

I also decided that sam has possibly the worst sense of direction. the bar was 20 minutes away from our place and i swear that at every turn, he went left when we had to go right. I fear the day when he must wander alone. luckily the people here are friendly and always seem willing to direct. either way, I want to go back to the bar sometime (although not often for budgetary reasons). i think i'm going to try to let sam find it next time just to see what happens.
